BACKGROUND and OBJECTIVE

The first and second symposia were held at Tsukuba in Japan, followed by the third one at Environmental Research Institute, Chulalonkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand and the fourth one at Institute of Technology Bandung, Indonesia. Through the symposia, data about researchers and research projects of each institute in the Asia-Pacific region have been collected and they were installed into the ETERNET-APR Home page. The data-base is being utilized well for exchange of information and researchers.

The main theme of the Fifth International Symposium is "Development of Environmental Technology and International Research Collaboration". The aim of this symposium is to find out the possible international collaborative researches for developing environmental technologies responding to environm-ental issues concerning atmosphere, hydrosphere and ocean, as well as wastes.

LANGUAGE

English (Simultaneous interpreter on Nov.26)

PRESENTATION and PROCEEDINGS

The symposium language will be English. The invited presentations will be given within 25 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of discussion. Proceedings consisting of invited papers will be given to registered participants at the symposium.
