TOWARDS INTERNATIONAL
COLLABORATIVE RESEARCHES FOR
ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES IN THE
ASIA-PACIFIC REGION
March 23-24, 1998
Savoy Homann Hotel
Bandung-INDONESIA,
ERIC (The Environmental Research Institute, Chulalongkorn University)
The aim of Environmental Technology Research Network in the Asia-Pacific Region (ETERNET-APR) is to promote cooperative research on environmental technologies, through the exchange of information and/or researchers, in order to minimize industrial environmental impacts in the Asia-Pacific region.
The network is being organized by institutions in this region that are engaged in research and development in the following fields: 1) Environmental Assessment Technology (air, water and ocean pollution, source inventory) , 2) Counter-measure and Emission Control Technology (atmospheric, water and oceanic environment and energy utilization technology as well as cleaner technology), 3) Measurement Technology (air, water and oceanic environment)
Since 1994 three international symposia have been held for the ETERNET-APR. The third ETERNET-APR International Symposium with emphasis on the Conservation of the Hydrospheric Environment, was held in Bangkok, Thailand. About 200 researchers from all Asia-Pacific countries were participated and ca. 50 papers by oral or poster were presented. A prototype homepage of ETERNET-APR was introduced, which consists of the database researchers and research projects being conducted in institutes of the Asia-Pacific countries. All participants agreed this symposium was very useful for expansion/enrichment of the database and for exchange of information on environmental technology researches and were eager to continue this kind of symposium. Thus, the fourth symposium of ETERNET-APR will be held in Bandung, Indonesia, organized by the 3 Japanese organizations and 2 Indonesian organizations as mentioned previously. The major objective of the symposium is to exchange information which can be utilized to build up international collaborative researches for environmental technologies in this region.
Contributed papers on any relevant topics are welcome. The presentations will be focused on the following topics :
and will be desired to have proposals for international collaborative study.
The program will comprise keynote lectures and colloquia with invited, oral and poster presentations. Participants are encouraged to submit their papers for oral or poster presentation in the registration form. Abstract should be submitted to the secretariat by January 31, 1998. Acceptance of papers and final arrangement will be notified by February 10, 1998. Further instructions regarding the submission of full papers will be provided along with the notification of acceptance. Full papers should be submitted within 3 (three) weeks after the date of notification letters.
