From TOKYO, JR Station:

  1. Take the Joban Highway bus bound for "Tsukuba Center" from bus stop No. 2 located at the South Yaesu Entrance of Tokyo Station;
  2. Get off at "Tsukuba Center," the final destination. The bus costs 1,230 yen, and takes about 70 minutes; then,
  3. Take a taxi at the Tsukuba Center to NIRE. The fare may be around 1,000 yen. Ask the taxi driver to go to "Shikan-ken."

From UENO, JR Station:

  1. Take the Joban Line for either Tsuchiura, Katsuta or Takahagi at the Ueno JR station;
  2. Get off at Hitachino-Ushiku. It takes about 60 minutes, and costs around 1,000 yen; then,
  3. Take a bus (bound for "Tsukuba Center") at the East Exit, and get off at the bus stop "Kisho-kenkyusho." The bus costs 360 yen, and takes about 10 minutes.
  4. Alternatively, take a taxi at the East Exit to NIRE. The fare may be around 1,500 yen. Ask the taxi driver to go to "Shikan-ken."

From New Tokyo International Airport (Narita):

  1. Take a taxi to NIRE, Tsukuba. It takes about 90 minutes, and costs approximately 20,000 yen.
  2. The limousine bound for Tsuchiura via "Tsukuba Center" is also served about every 2 hours. This limousine service is called "Airport Liner NITT'S" which costs 2,540 yen to "Tsukuba Center." Ticket is available at "Keisei Airport Bus Counter" in Narita Airport before boarding. The limousine stops at Bus Stop No. 8 of the Passenger Terminal 1, and at No.12 of the Passenger Terminal 2. It takes approximately 100 minutes to Tsukuba, though of course it depends upon the traffic condition.
  3. Take a taxi at the Tsukuba Center to NIRE. The fare may be around 1,000 yen. Ask the taxi driver to go to "Shikan-ken."
