Carbyne Synthesis by Chemical Process

Carbyne, one of the members in carbon family(Figure 1), is fascinating material.

Some methods have been attempted to prepare the carbyne. However, effective approach to obrain a significant amount of the carbyne is not found so far. We are trying to prepare the carbyne from polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) by chemical reduction with anion radicals:
